A few years back Peter Lineham pointed me in the direction of the various series put out by Icon Books. Recently I’ve been reading the occasional book from their Postmodern Encounters series, including most recently Donna Haraway and GM Foods. All of the books in the series are fairly short and summarize a particular person’s interaction with a contemporary issue. In this case it examines the work of Donna Haraway on the new world of technonature, cyborgs, and the blurring of traditional boundaries between humans, animals, and plants, and between nature and machine (primarily using Modest Witness@Second Millenium. FemaleMan Meets OncoMouse: Feminism and Technoscience). Good thought provoking stuff.

The author, George Myerson, has written another volume in a series, Heidegger, Habermas, and the Mobile Phone, which I hope to get hold of in the near future.
