Postgrad proof text

The following applies in relation to supervisors. Pick your translation carefully.

Job 13:15 (NIV)

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him;
I will surely defend my ways to his face.

Job 13:15 (NRSV)

See, he will kill me; I have no hope;
but I will defend my ways to his face.

(In my case I have two supervisors and both translations can then apply simultaneously – after the appropriate inclusive language emendation)

  1. Very good!
    I had lunch with my former supervisor the other day: still a friend & mentor, and now also my senior colleague. She taught me how to read and write, but never once ‘slew’ me, thus also teaching me that it’s possible to suprevise with great rigour without destroying someone’s confidence! I hope I turn into that kind of teacher.
