Star Lent

FaithodysseyInspired by Steve’s use of the book (e~mergent kiwi: spirituality resources) I’m going to use Richard’s Burridge’s “Faith Odyssey: A Journey Through Lent” for my Lenten reflections this year. A quick skim of the back of book shows a significant lack of Babylon 5, Firefly and Stargate references though I might be surprised when I actually read the book.

Pancakes tonight with the kids and their friends too.

  1. you’re right… i used it a couple of years back, its a tad old, and possibly in need of a series of scifi updates but is pretty cool…

perhaps next year we can put together a comic book lenten resource… hehe

  2. Perennial problem with books and films about pop culture – they take a snapshot. Now a web site that offered the reflections could be more up to date. I like the idea of the comic-based series. I’ll ponder it while I do the Faith Odyssey series this year. Must also get hold of other books (like Conrad Gempf’s “Mealtime Habits of the Messiah”) which I believe has comic book references in it. (see http://www.greenflame.org/archives/2006/01/07/the_spectre_some_insight_into_the_spirituality_of_comics.php)

Now I’m all excited thinking about how to do it, rather than working on the thesis.
