In a paper I’ve just submitted for a symposium on lament and complaint I start to explore lament and imprecation within the context of new media – with some passing comments about hate speech legislation and whether imprecation is ‘allowed’ in contemporary contexts. So I was interested to read this posting today Prayers or Curses? : ReligionNerd.com – I wonder how commonplace it is in everyday religious life. Probably more that we think.
